Welcome to the new look newsletter. We have changed the
format to give you a better read. October - November 2009 Newsletter.
Previous Newsletters: April May - June
July - August 2009 Newsletter
Hi to all,
Here’s a newsletter at last. First things first, the club annual do is getting nearer, so anyone who has their name
down and hasn’t paid in full, please could you pay as soon as possible. If anyone would like to go but haven’t got their
name down, there are still places left, but we will require your full payment straight away. It is only £10 per head,
so if you would like an enjoyable afternoon of food, drink, trophy & medal presentation and our fabulous raffle,
just let Karen know as soon as possible as we need to finalize how many people are actually going. Just a reminder, on shoot days, please sign in as soon as you enter the wood and when you pay your range fee, please
make sure you mark it off on the sheet that you have paid. Also, please wear your membership badges at all times,
if you haven’t got one please let Karen know, if you forget to bring it, then please wear a guest badge for the
day. Also, on shoot days, our safety talk will take place between 10-15 &10-30am, no shooting can take place until
the safety talk has been done. Our newsletters will now be sent via email, so if you haven’t put your email address on the list could you please do
so, as this will cut down a lot of time consuming stamp licking. If you haven’t got an email address, then we will still
post you a newsletter. As from the beginning of September, the food will be changing again as Karen is retiring from being food lady. There
will still be free food and drinks available, so you wont have the tummy rumbles all day. All will be revealed in
September. Also, any members who would like to play a more active role in the running of the club, please see Karen or a
range official. All help is much appreciated as it can be hard work. Your range officials are:- Your first aide's are :- Dates for your diary: May - June 2009 Newsletter
Hi to all,
At last, here is a quick newsletter. As you can see, the bluebells are gone now which should make shooting a bit easier
for some, (YOUR EXCUSE FOR MISSING IS NOW GONE!) Just a reminder, a list for our annual presentation BBQ is either on the table or hanging on the notice
board. If you want
to come, please could you put your name on the list, and who you intend to bring. This is so we can get an idea of numbers and
get organized. It’s a great afternoon with plenty of food, an excellent raffle and of course, trophy and medals presentation.
Its at the Anne Boleyn in Rochford from 1pm to 6pm on Sunday 27th September. We will be needing a £5 deposit per person, by the
end of July. For those of you lucky enough to win a club trophy last year, we will need them back at the end of august
to prepare them for the next presentation. As you know, food and drinks are free at THW. If you take any food or drink around the course, please please can you
bring all rubbish back to base camp and dispose of in the bins provided. This will be much appreciated as you can understand
that everything in the wood has to be packed away at the end of the day, so we don't have time to go and look for rubbish.
Thank You! Good News, the club was able to purchase another S200, which will make things easier when potential members come down
to have a go. Now, we must say thank-you to David Cook (senior ) for all his help with the pistol comps, and for lending
us some of his rifles for club use. It's much appreciated. Also, thanks to Lord Easton for maintaining the club website, which he does voluntarily. Thank you to those of you who help set up and pack away at the start and end of the day. Last but not least, thank you
to Les Marshall and Steve Burton for sorting out all the scores. Things are looking very interesting. Just a reminder of
our range officials:- Dates for your diary: April 2009 Newsletter Hi to all THW members First things first, we would like to thank Les and Shirley for organizing the
junior Easter competition, and for donating some of the Easter eggs. Your help
is always appreciated. Anthony Yates came 1st, Connor Burton came 2nd and Ryan
Spencer came 3rd. Well done to all who took part. As you can probably see, the bluebells are now up. So as well as making
today a very challenging shoot, please take care not to flatten too many, thank
you. As they are protected we are only allowed in the wood while they are up, on
the understanding that we do not disturb them. Otherwise we would not be allowed
to shoot in the wood whilst they are out. Some of you have been lucky enough (if you can call it lucky) to have been
given a THW hat, more will be ordered shortly for those of you who would like
one. It all helps to advertise the club. A date for your diaries, well in advance. We have decided on the date for our
annual club trophy presentation and barbeque do. It will be on Sunday 27th
September, for the afternoon. The venue has been booked (our usual place), the
Horse and Groom in Rochford. We thought last year was a great success, so have
decided to do the same again. It's a great afternoon including our famous
raffle, with lots of prizes to win. So keep this date free in your diary, more
information will be given nearer the time. These are the next four shoot dates:- 3rd May ———Pistol competition 17th May———Open internal competition (one that was cancelled in
January) 31st May——Open internal competition 14th June————Springer competition Our range officials are: Tony Yates, Chris Watson, Les Marshall, Steve Turner, Bob Watson,
Del Webber, John Roberts, Dave Spary and Tony Ward. Any problems, see one of them except Tony!!!! (only joking) Not forgetting Lord Easton (the webmaster) who does an excellent job, and works very
hard on our club website which is www.th-w.co.uk. Most information and competition results
can be found on there, and lots of lovely photo's too!
Feel free as usual, to help yourselves to drinks throughout the day. Don't
forget the grub at lunchtime!
If you need a pellet pouch priced £5.00 or a bean bag priced £20.00 please see a
range official or Karen. Please make sure you sign in as you arrive in the wood and those of you with badges, wear
them at all times. Thank You. All that's left to say is have a great day, and we hope you enjoy your shoot. Top © 2007 THW HFTC
